Sharon Crow & Kate Fonshell

Sharon Crow (1st season)
Sharon Crow joins the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff this season, bringing plenty of experience from her outstanding career at Haddon Township High School and Rowan University. Crow began her running career at Haddon Township (class of 1998), where she won numerous individual titles and still holds school records in the 1600, 3200, and 5000 meters. She then went on to run track and cross country for Rowan University (class of 2003), where she was the New Jersey Athletic Conference track and field champion in the 5000-meter run (2003), as well as an Academic All-American for cross country for four straight years.

Crow holds Rowan's indoor track 5000-meter record, and also ran the anchor leg that broke the school record in the distance medley relay. She now competes in local road races with distances varying from the 5K to the marathon, and in 2004 qualified for the Boston Marathon.

Sharon, who lives in Westmont and works as a CPA for Bowman & Company, LLP, has a strong passion for running. One of her life goals is to introduce as many people to running as possible and encourage other runners to be their best.

Kate Fonshell (1st season)
A world-class runner, Kate Fonshell joins the Rutgers-Camden cross country coaching staff this season, adding another accomplishment to a resume which includes six All-American honors, a national championship and a berth on the Olympic Team.

Fonshell earned a spot on the 1996 Olympic Team by winning the Olympic Trials and becoming the National Champion in the 10,000-meter run. She also was ranked No. 1 in the country that year in the same event.

While attending Villanova University, Fonshell was a six-time All-American and two-time member of the NCAA Cross Country Championship team. Her personal records are 4:26 for the mile, 15:37 for the 5K, 32:18 for the 10K, and 2:40:55 for the marathon.

Fonshell earned both her BA in Psychology (1991) and MS (1994) in Counseling and Human Services from Villanova. She is a doctoral candidate at Temple University in the department of Kinesiology, specializing in the Psychology of Human Movement.

Fonshell currently resides in Ardmore, PA, where she is a certified counselor, coach and sport psychology consultant. She also continues to train and race competitively.
