Steve Kaneshiki joins the Rutgers-Camden women's basketball staff this season following coaching stints at Washington College and Cumberland County College.

Kaneshiki served as an assistant varsity women's basketball coach and the JV head coach at Washington College (Chestertown, Maryland) during the 2005-06 season, in addition to coordinating the tape exchange. He also assisted in game management for Washington College's fall and winter sports.

Prior to his post at Washington College, Kaneshiki spent three years as the head women's coach at Cumberland County College, where his student-athletes had remarkable success both on and off the court. In his first full year (2003-04), Kaneshiki's club snapped a 32-game losing streak, set program records in nearly every offensive category, increased its win total by 10 and finished third in the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) regular-season race. His recruited players earned numerous honors, including GSAC Player of the Year, NJCAA Division III All-American Second Team and two All-Region XIX First Team and four All-Region XIX Second Team honors.

Academically, Kaneshiki's Dukes ranked seventh nationally out of all NJCAA divisions with a 3.41 GPA during the 2004-05 season. He had 19 players earn NJCAA Region XIX Academic First Team awards and two earn NJCAA Academic All-American honors during his time at Cumberland County College.

Kaneshiki is a 1999 graduate of Elon University (Elon, NC), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport/Leisure Management and minored in Business. In addition to his collegiate coaching experiences, he has served as a counselor at the Hoop Mountain Mid-Atlantic Girls Team Camp and as a personal trainer.

A certified fitness trainer, Anthony Mitchell joins the Rutgers-Camden women's basketball staff this season to serve as the Lady Raptors' Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Mitchell is the CEO of his own business, Phunsports, of Sicklerville. The company, formed in 1991, provides professional instruction and training to athletes of all levels. He has worked world-wide in 17 countries and at the Olympic Games in both 1992 (Barcelona) and 1996 (Atlanta). Among his numerous clients are five World Champions and 10 U.S. National Champions in track and field. During the past 15 years he has worked with Olympic track champions, coached nine Ivy League champions and 12 state high school wrestling champions.

Mitchell attended East Carolina University, where he was a member of the Pirates' wrestling team before the school dropped the program.

Anthony is the brother of three-time Olympic sprinter Dennis Mitchell, who was on the gold medal-winning 4x100 U.S. team in Barcelona and also won titles at the World Championships and NCAA championships in his illustrious career. Anthony became involved with training and professional instruction after his brother formed the Dennis Mitchell Athletic Club. Dennis Mitchell serves as the Sports Performance Coordinator for the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida.

In addition to training numerous world-class athletes, Anthony Mitchell works as a Special Education teacher at Winslow Township High School. He also coaches both the girls cross country and girls track and field teams at Winslow Township.

A member of the Sicklerville Town Committee, Mitchell resides in that town with his wife Angel and children Anthony and Asia.
